Take Initiative

It's an easy concept but rarely done by those looking to break into the eSports industry. Many are content to sit back and let others do the ground work for projects or wait for opportunities to fall in front of them. The truth is you have to get out there and make those opportunities for yourself. Some regional eSports communities could benefit from some pro-activity too.

Want to be a top team manager one day? Find a budding or semi-pro team out there you can join and learn from, then stick with it. Want to work for a company in the industry? Start building your marketing qualifications, voluntary or educational. Try your hand at writing eSports articles for a press site. Join an event company as a tournament admin. Form a ladder team and take the helm.

Get out there and create opportunity for yourself. Be confident but not forceful; don't beg for chances, but prove your value. Be proud of the work you do.
